In each of our lives, there have been people who have hurt us deeply. Ironically, it is the ones we bring closest to us who hurt us most. It is not so much because we choose wrongly, but that by bringing them close and opening a vulnerable part of us, we give them the ability to hurt us deeply.
Does this mean we should protect ourselves and keep people from coming close to our heart? If one did that, one will lose the aspect of love that makes us human and life worth living.
Instead, if someone hurts you, to whatever extent, try to love them still! If you cannot love the person they are now, then love them as they were before. Always remember people by the best aspects of your relationship, and not the worst. The chronological sequence of the person does not matter.
